Hi Kent,

I chose the W & M saddlebags because of their good reputation. I would have liked the "purist" leather bag route, but common sense took over. After all, the seat/pillion/sissy pad are vinyl, and the synthetic bags are a *lot* less work in terms of maintenance, and 1/3 to 1/2 the price.

As far as the highway bars, I decided that >$100 per inch for forward controls passed the point of diminishing returns. In just a few days I've gotten real comfortable with the POSA highway bars from DK, and at $114 US shipped, they made a lot more sense dollar-wise. In normal cruising I tend to get to top gear ASAP and it's an easy move from the stock pegs to the highway pegs. In aggressive switchback mountain runs, I'm usually too busy to notice if my legs are getting cramped on the stock controls (did that just yesterday... YOW!)

Hope this helps... KTRSD.

John
